> Kali Murtha in Kamalapura

Kali Murtha appears to be a fairly local festival, I can't find anything on the web about it. As it was explained to me, it involves the sacrificing of many goats to satisfy the blood lust of Kali as a means of cleansing the sins of the villagers. However, for me the day was mainly a great opportunity to peak behind 'tourist India' and into life in rural India. The photos are a mix of children and preparations for a feast in the tiny village of Kamalupura, Karnataka.
